Position: M&E Installation Cost Estimator
Work Location: Pasir Gudang, Johor
Working Hours: Mon–Fri, 8AM–5PM
Salary Package: Subject to negotiation (depends on experience)
Responsibilities:
Budget Preparation & Tender Stage
● Perform quantity take-off for M&E installation works including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and related systems based on drawings and specifications.
● Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ), tender estimates, and project cost budgets.
● Apply appropriate costing norms to calculate labor, materials, and equipment costs.
● Conduct material and equipment price inquiries, collect market price data, and maintain supplier pricing information.
● Assist in tender quotation preparation and pricing strategy to ensure competitive and reasonable bids.
Construction Cost Control
● Prepare progress payment applications based on project milestones and site progress.
● Verify quantities confirmed by consultants/clients and calculate payable amounts.
● Monitor project cost performance and maintain cost tracking records.
● Review design changes, variation orders, and site instructions, and evaluate their cost impact.
● Prepare revised budgets and support project management in controlling cost overruns.
Final Account & Documentation
● Prepare project final accounts upon project completion.
● Collect and organize all supporting documents including contracts, drawings, variation orders, and meeting records.
● Coordinate with clients, consultants, or auditors during final account verification.
● Conduct project cost analysis and prepare reports for future project reference.
Requirements:
● Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
● Preferably 3–5 years or above experience in construction project budgeting or cost control.
● Experience in factory construction / industrial plant infrastructure projects will be an added advantage.
● Proficient in BOQ measurement standards, cost norms, and budgeting software (e.g. Glodon, Luban, or similar systems).
● Ability to independently read and interpret MEP construction drawings and understand installation processes.
● Knowledge of contract law, tendering regulations, and relevant construction laws.
● Strong numerical and analytical skills.
● Good communication and coordination abilities, capable of handling cost reconciliation with clients, consultants, and contractors.
● High sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
● Candidates with contractor-side experience are strongly preferred.
