Role Description

The [Urgent Hiring] M&E Project Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works for industrial, commercial, and mission-critical facilities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing engineering designs and technical drawings, preparing project documentation, coordinating with contractors, consultants, and vendors, monitoring project progress, and resolving technical issues on site. The M&E Project Engineer will oversee installation works, inspections, testing and commissioning activities, and ensure project delivery meets quality, safety, schedule, and budget requirements.

We prefer candidates with experience in semiconductor manufacturing facilities, cleanroom environments, and MEI (Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation) Tool Hook-Up projects. The role requires close collaboration with project managers, clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to execute mission-critical projects successfully.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of M&E systems and Building Services, including design review, coordination, and installation.
  • Experience managing Mechanical & Electrical projects, site coordination, and contractor supervision.
  • Experience in Facility Management (FM) and Building Maintenance for mission-critical or high-reliability environments is an advantage.
  • Competency in Electrical Engineering, including power distribution systems, electrical safety standards, and relevant industry codes.
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing facilities, cleanroom construction, or industrial plant projects is preferred.
  • Experience in MEI (Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation) Tool Hook-Up, utility hook-up, equipment installation, testing, and commissioning is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, specifications, and using engineering or project management software.
  • Strong understanding of quality control, safety requirements, and project documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Previous experience in semiconductor, data centre, pharmaceutical, or advanced manufacturing projects will be an added advantage.
