M&E Quantity Surveyor

Responsibilities:-

Pre-Contract / Tender Stage

• Lead the preparation of tender documents including detailed M&E cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), and tender clarifications.
• Perform cost benchmarking and feasibility studies specific to data centre M&E systems.
• Evaluate technical specifications and drawings for overall M&E related services in the project.
• Liaise with design, procurement, and engineering teams for accurate pricing and risk assessment.
• Source and analyse quotations from suppliers/subcontractors and conduct value engineering proposals.

Post-Contract Stage

• Manage M&E cost control, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting.
• Evaluate, verify, and certify subcontractor interim claims, variations, and final accounts.
• Conduct cost impact assessments for design changes and lead commercial negotiations.
• Maintain cost records and prepare monthly valuation reports.
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms and statutory requirements (e.g., Suruhanjaya Tenaga, BOMBA).
• Support project audits, claims, and dispute resolution if necessary.

Requirements:-

• Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering will be preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 year for Junior role; minimum 5-7 years for Senior role.
• Strong understanding of M&E systems unique to data centres.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Candidate is expected to be based in Johor as and when necessary.
