Description
We are seeking experienced actuarial professionals to support our growing Life Insurance practice, with a primary focus on actuarial audit support alongside broader advisory engagements.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality actuarial work across financial reporting, valuation, and capital-related areas, while working closely with audit, finance, and risk teams.
This role offers exposure to a wide range of actuarial topics including IFRS 17, Embedded Value, capital and solvency (RBC), and actuarial modelling, within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Actuarial Audit & Assurance
- Lead and deliver actuarial support for external audit engagements for life insurers
- Perform independent review and challenge of:
- Valuation methodologies, models, and assumptions
- Liability calculations (reserves, BEL, RA, CSM where applicable)
- Movement analysis and financial reporting outputs
- Assess reasonableness and consistency of actuarial results against experience, expectations, and prior periods
- Evaluate controls, governance, and model integrity within actuarial processes
- Work closely with audit and finance teams to ensure audit evidence is robust, well-documented, and meets regulatory standards
- Manage audit timelines, resolve technical issues, and communicate findings to senior stakeholders
Advisory & Technical
- Provide actuarial input across:
- IFRS 17 reporting and analysis
- Embedded Value / VNB
- Capital and solvency (RBC / economic capital)
- Actuarial modelling and system-related work
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Manage engagements and act as key client contact point
- Review work, ensure quality, and mentor junior team members
- Support business development and practice growth initiatives
Requirements
- Degree in Actuarial Science or related discipline
- 7-12+ years of relevant experience in life insurance (consulting or industry)
- Strong exposure to:
- Actuarial valuation / reporting
- IFRS 17, EV, or capital frameworks (RBC)
- Actuarial modelling tools (e.g. Prophet, RAFM)
- Prior experience in audit or audit support would be an advantage
- Strong communication skills with ability to engage senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage teams and deliver under tight timelines
