Danica is one of the largest Life & Pension companies in Denmark. The Danske Bank Group is the largest financial institution in Denmark by total assets and one of the foremost in the Nordic region. Danske Bank provides a comprehensive array of services including banking, mortgage financing, leasing, real estate brokerage, asset management, insurance, and pension solutions.

The Java Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing high-quality software applications using Java technologies. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software development, a strong understanding of object-oriented programming, and experience with Java frameworks.

Technical Requirements (Must Have):

• 3+ years of experience actively developing COBOL

• 3+ years experience with DB2

• 3+ years experience in JCL

• Experience working with ISPF

• Experience with mainframe environments (e.g. z/OS, batch processing, JCL)

• Understanding of legacy systems architecture and integration patterns.

Good to have:

• Experience with Java or .Net for modernization and integration

• API development experience

• Exposure to modernization or migration projects (SOAP Webservices → APIs)

• Ability to leverage AI tools to analyze and understand legacy code

• Exposure of using AI tools to transform legacy functionality into API driven services

Soft Skills Requirements:

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Ability to work with complex legacy solutions

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies

• Effective communication and collaboration across teams

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
