Job Summary:
We are looking for a Junior Mainframe Developer with 3-5 years of experience to support our Cards Service Delivery QA team. The role involves development, deployment support, and monitoring of batch processes in a Mainframe environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, and CICS, and preferably exposure to banking projects, especially in the Cards domain.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and support Mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and CICS.
Work with VSAM and sequential datasets for batch and online processing.
Provide deployment support, including package preparation and implementation in Mainframe ZOS environments.
Monitor and support batch runs, troubleshoot job failures, and perform root cause analysis.
Collaborate with QA and functional teams to ensure quality deliverables in Cards projects.
Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, tools, and documentation.
Provide support for web services integration and REST API testing (nice to have).
Required Skills & Experience
Experience: 3-5 years in Mainframe development and support.
Mandatory Skills:
o COBOL, JCL, CICS
o Mainframe ZOS environment
o VSAM and sequential datasets
Nice to Have Skills:
o Easytrieve, Web Services, REST API
o CardLink / Vision Plus knowledge
Other Requirements:
o Hands-on experience in deployment support and batch run monitoring.
o Prior experience in Banking projects, preferably Cards domain.
o Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
