Mainframe System Programmer

Job Description:

Oversee the Systems support team in order to ensure optimum Mainframe systems availability. Manage day-to-day support of Mainframe network environment by overseeing fault resolution, support and configuration of the Mainframe Network Infrastructure. Must have expertise in VTAM and mainframe TCP/IP design.

Technical Delivery:

• Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

- Oversee fault resolution, support and configuration activities.

- Install, configure, maintain, and support z/OS network software and subsystems.

- Ensure a stable Mainframe network support.

- Supervise the maintenance of Mainframe Network Components.

- Oversee the resolution of issues affecting the production services.

- Provide connectivity between applications and mainframe subsystems.

• Knowledge and skills required:

- Expertise in Mainframe Network/Systems Administration/Engineering.

- Proficiency in Network Components VTAM, APPN, TCPIP & EE.

- Experience with Transmission Products: FTP, XCOM & NDM.

- Knowledge of VTAM and mainframe TCP/IP design.

- Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS operating systems.

Qualifications:

- 6-8 years of technical experience.

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related area of study.
