About The Role

Location: Bandar Enstek, Negeri Sembilan

Reports to: Head of Manufacturing

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance and asset reliability activities within the manufacturing facility to ensure maximum equipment availability, operational efficiency, and production continuity. This role oversees preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs while managing maintenance personnel, contractors, budgets, and capital projects.

The incumbent will drive continuous improvement initiatives, equipment reliability strategies, breakdown analysis, and operational excellence programs to improve plant performance. In addition, the role is accountable for ensuring compliance with safety, quality, engineering, and maintenance standards while developing the technical capabilities of the maintenance team.

The Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by minimizing downtime, optimizing maintenance costs, leading major shutdowns and overhauls, and delivering sustainable improvements in equipment reliability and productivity.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and coordinate all preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment reliability, availability, and operational performance.
  • Manage and develop maintenance technicians, contractors, and support personnel through coaching, performance management, capability development, and succession planning.
  • Drive equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives through structured breakdown analysis, root cause investigations, maintenance optimization, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Plan, organize, and execute major shutdowns, overhauls, retrofits, and maintenance projects while ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Manage maintenance operating and capital expenditure budgets, including spare parts, contract labor, equipment upgrades, and replacement programs.
  • Monitor and analyze maintenance KPIs, equipment performance, downtime trends, and maintenance effectiveness, implementing corrective actions were required to achieve operational targets.
  • Provide technical leadership and fourth-line support for complex equipment failures, ensuring issues are investigated thoroughly and resolved with minimal impact on production.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are executed in accordance with engineering standards, SOPs, safety requirements, GMP standards, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve operational challenges, improve plant performance, and support business objectives.
  • Lead operational excellence initiatives through the application of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, RCA, BPS, and other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance productivity, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure proper maintenance documentation, SAP PM utilization, reporting, and record management to support compliance, planning, and decision-making processes.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement while maintaining high standards of housekeeping and workplace organization.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 8–10 years of maintenance experience within FMCG, food & beverage or manufacturing environments.
  • At least 3–5 years in a leadership or supervisory role, managing maintenance technicians and contractors.
  • Proven experience in preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance management.
  • Hands-on experience managing production equipment, utilities, packaging lines, fillers, conveyors, pumps, compressors, boilers, or process systems.
  • Experience leading plant shutdowns, overhauls, equipment upgrades, and capital projects.
  • Strong track record in reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability.
  • Experience using SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) or equivalent CMMS systems.
  • Familiarity with maintenance budgeting, cost control, and spare parts management.
  • Strong understanding of GMP, food safety, quality systems, and EHS requirements.
