We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HRSSC Lead for Malaysia to lead and manage our local HR Shared Services Center (HRSSC) operations. This role will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end HR operations and payroll in-house process for over 1,000 employees in Malaysia, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and high service delivery standards. The ideal candidate will lead a team of 10 HR operation professionals, drive process standardization, and act as a key liaison in implementing global HR processes locally.
Key Responsibilities:
1.【Team Leadership & Development】
- Lead, mentor, and manage the Malaysia HR Operations and Overseas Expertise teams (10 FTEs), fostering a high-performance culture.
- Set clear performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and support team members professional development.
- Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
2.【HRSSC including Payroll Management】
- Oversee all employee lifecycle processes for Malaysia, including onboarding, employment changes (transfers, promotions), offboarding and Payroll.
- Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of HR data in HRIS (e.g., SAP, Workday, or similar), with a strong focus on data integrity and compliance.
- Drive efficiency and automation in HR processes through system optimization and digital transformation initiatives.
3.【Global Process Implementation & Compliance】
- Serve as the local owner for the adoption and execution of global HR shared services standards and processes in Malaysia, including:
- Overseas background checks
- International leave and holiday management
- Global benefits administration and enrollment
- Cross-border mobility support
- Collaborate with regional and global HR teams to ensure alignment with policies and regulatory requirements.
4.【Stakeholder Engagement & Service Delivery】
- Partner with local business leaders, HR Business Partners, and regional HRSC teams to deliver responsive and high-quality HR services.
- Handle escalated employee inquiries and ensure timely resolution of HR issues.
- Monitor SLAs and KPIs to measure service quality and drive continuous improvement.
5.【Compliance & Risk Management】
- Ensure all HR practices comply with Malaysian labor laws, tax regulations, and data privacy standards (e.g., PDPA).
- Conduct regular audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, HRCI) is a plus.
2. Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within HR operations or shared services.
3. Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment laws, payroll regulations, and statutory requirements.
4. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage change, and implement global HR processes locally.
5. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills in English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is highly desirable.
