Job purpose

The HR Management trainee L &D will play an important role in supporting and coordinating HR projects and initiatives across APMEA in areas such as Talent Management, Learning & Development, Culture & Belonging, Health & Wellbeing, Employee Engagement and other HR domains.

This role combines project management support, stakeholder coordination, and creative content design to ensure the smooth execution of HR priorities. It is designed for early-career professionals who are proactive, resourceful, curious, and creative, with a strong passion for building a career in Human Resources. The role provides broad exposure across the HR function while contributing directly to impactful regional initiatives.

Role main responsibilities

1. Project Management

  • Support and lead the deployment of HR projects and initiatives in alignment with APMEA HR priorities and business needs.
  • Design project plans, track key project milestones, and communicate status updates to stakeholders and management.
  • Develop and maintain project trackers, workflows, and documentation to ensure visibility of progress.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality HR service delivery for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and agility to work on different HR areas and projects based on business needs.
  • Effectively manage change to ensure successful implementation of HR solutions.
  • Take a forward-looking approach by partnering with HR leaders and business leaders to anticipate needs and design innovative HR programs.
  • Stay abreast of emerging HR trends and identify opportunities for innovative HR solutions.

2. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Influence and engage internal stakeholders across multiple countries in HR and business areas.
  • Partner with regional and country HR teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure project alignment and smooth delivery.
  • Prepare and deliver communications, presentations, and stakeholder updates to support projects.
  • Build strong working relationships and proactively address stakeholder needs.

3. Creative Design & Engagement

  • Demonstrate resourcefulness in using creative tools with PowerPoint as a must-have skill, to design posters, toolkits, infographics, and impactful presentations for HR campaigns and employee engagement.
  • Use PowerPoint not only for presentations but also as a creative design tool to craft visually compelling HR materials.
  • Familiarity with Canva or other design platforms is an advantage
  • Translate HR concepts into clear, creative, and visually impactful communication materials.
  • Proactively explore and suggest innovative ways, whether through new tools, formats, or approaches - to make HR storytelling more engaging and accessible.

4. Other Responsibilities

  • Undertake any other duties as required by the HR leadership team to support business and HR priorities.

Reporting lines

  • Reports to the Head of Learning & Development and Culture & Belonging, APMEA and/or assigned a line manager depending on projects. The role will be based in Malaysia.

Candidate profile

  • Passion and potential to learn and grow in HR.
  • 12 years experience in HR or project coordination; multinational experience preferred. Open to fresh graduates with HR education or career aspirations in HR.
  • Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills; collaborative with stakeholders.
  • Able to design and support HR projects and solutions.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to navigate change.
  • Open-minded, curious, and eager to learn.
  • PowerPoint (must-have) and Canva skills for creative design; other tools an advantage.
  • Prior knowledge of HR processes such as talent reviews, learning programmes, or Culture & Belonging initiatives is preferred but not mandatory.
