Job Scope
The incumbent is responsible to assist the Actuarial Senior Manager to define and implement appropriate actuarial standards and work processes in relation to the provision of actuarial services to the Company.
Actuarial knowledge and skills are necessary in various aspects of insurance business, e.g. product design and pricing, analysis of the company's claims, persistency and expense experience, arrangement of reinsurance, calculation of reserves and profit reporting under various regulatory bases.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Review and analyse Prophet model office financial output. This will include all financial metrics, including but not limited to EEV, NBP, IFRS and RBC. Perform reasonable checks as appropriate.
- Compile the Prophet model office financial output into various reports for different stakeholders. Ensure data is reconciled and accurate for the purposes of financial report production. Conduct reasonableness checks and analyses on results. Interpret and communicate results to Actuarial Senior Manager. Accurate and timely production of financial calculations.
- Correct and timely submission of financial results to Group and internal stakeholders, with timely escalation to stakeholders on potential obstacles to delivery of results.
- Assist the Head of Regional Reporting in driving the annual assumption and modelling review as part of Business Planning. Ensure appropriate checks are done on the financial impact analysis and prepare comprehensive documentations for other team's reference.
- Support the implementation of reporting process enhancement and initiatives, with continuous identification of opportunities to improve existing workflows and processes.
- Provision of general actuarial support to other departments as necessary. Provide guidance, training and general supervision to Actuarial Professionals/Senior Actuarial Professional if required.
Job Specifications
- Qualifications
- Degree in Actuarial Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics or other physical sciences or numerate discipline.
- Actively pursuing professional actuarial examinations.
- Experience
- At least 4-5 years of relevant actuarial experience.
- Knowledge & Skills
- Practical knowledge in Prophet (preferred) or other projection software would be preferred but training will be provided otherwise.
- Must be meticulous with the ability to work under pressure.
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work under minimum supervision.
- A numerate and analytical mind.
