About the Job

You are responsible for supporting the Appointed Actuary and providing oversight, review, and leadership in the preparation and submission of regulatory and group reporting. This includes actuarial reserving, capital adequacy, and statutory requirements such as TOSS, PIDM Levy, MTA/ISM submissions, Annual ITCL reviews, experience studies, Financial Condition Reports (FCR), Actuarial Valuation Reports (AVR), surplus declaration and distribution, as well as data and system testing activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review monthly actuarial and financial reports, including reserves and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), to support close monitoring of business and financial performance for both local and group management.
  • Review and support the preparation of quarterly and annual reports and papers, including CAR, PRDC, PIDM Levy, FCR, and AVR, ensuring timely and accurate submission to internal stakeholders and external bodies such as BNM, MTA, and ISM in accordance with prescribed methodologies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Review the annual ITCL stress testing exercise and results to support sustainable and appropriate ITCL recommendations.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members in managing stakeholder expectations, responding to requests, and meeting reporting requirements.
  • Oversee data validation and system testing for new product launches and actuarial valuationrelated system enhancements.
  • Review annual experience studies, including the assessment of proposed assumption changes and evaluation of their financial and business impact.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation and robust audit trails are maintained for all actuarial work and reporting.
  • Ensure successful outcomes in internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and adherence to governance and compliance requirements.
  • Mentor and develop junior actuarial staff through technical reviews and coaching.

  • At least Degree in Actuarial Science or equivalent and good progress in exams passing.
  • At least 5 years of experience in actuarial industry.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
