POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY

Manage the overall operation and maintenance of the assigned airport systems and facilities at the highest serviceability and reliability for the excellent service levels and in a cost-effective manner.

Essential Position Functions

  • Strategize and provide direction for the operation and maintenance to ensure highest level of system availability and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance to Company's policies, procedures, guidelines, local/international regulations and legislations , quality management system, EMS, OHSAS, Green Globe 21 and any other certifications.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting for the assigned airport systems and facilities.
  • Plan, manage and control yearly budget (OPEX and CAPEX) for the assigned airport systems and facilities in order to provide cost effective airport services.
  • Develop staff competency and skill in order to improve the effectiveness of operation and maintenance activities.
  • Keep abreast of new technology in order to properly plan for future enhancement and efficiency improvement of the assigned airport system and facilities.
  • Lead special projects in order to ensure the assigned airport system and facilities requirements are properly addressed.
  • Manage effectively and timely during any system crisis and emergency situation.
  • Lead and provide guidance on the project and contract management.
  • Benchmark against industry best practices and recommends for continuous improvement.

Key Challenges

  • Dependency on third party such as OEM, IT and vendors. Failure in the delivery of their services can cause major disruption to the overall Airport system and facilities operation.
  • High dependency on IT system performance.
  • Non-compliance to system procedures by external parties. This non-compliance can lead to system breakdown and consequently increase maintenance cost and cause system disruption.
  • Reduced maintenance window due to the extended operation hours. Need to rearrange maintenance work accordingly.
  • Unable to fully implement maintenance program due to budget constraint. This can lead to potential risk of equipment failure.
  • Effectiveness on the utilization of IT tools i.e. SAP, CMMS.

Skills

  • Sound knowledge in operation management, contract management, quality management system & SAP
  • Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Result driven and resourceful
  • Able to work independently with mininum supervision
  • Good coordination skills

Relevant Industries

Internal

  • A minimum of 7 years working experience in engineering executive role or
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience in engineering executive role for operation and maintenance of airport systems and facilities.

External

  • A minimum of 5 years working experience in engineering executive role for operation and maintenance of airport systems and facilities.

Unique Requirement

  • Registered with Board of Engineers of Malaysia ( BEM )
  • Preferably a Member of the Institute of Engineers Malaysia

Education

Internal

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering

External

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering
  • Master Degree is an added advantage
  • Minimum CGPA 3.0
