Overview

THE ROLE: The Category Manager in Indirect Sourcing will be responsible for the definition, development and execution of multiple mid to highly complex comprehensive sourcing focusing on Logistics and Warehousing Category in APAC. As the regional expert for specific regional category(ies), this position will execute supplier communication, pricing and strategic commodity supply decision making, and align with China, APAC and Global team on strategy and tactics. The individual selected for this position will lead cross-functional teams and projects for mid to highly complex sourcing categories to maximize total value, generate efficiencies, manage the relationships with strategic supplier partners and introduce supplier innovation and technologies across all Herbalife business units.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE: (Responsibilities and tasks associated with the job)

  • Manage multiple mid-to-high complexity categories. Lead RFx, auction, and supplier negotiation strategies. Coordinate, align and communicate supplier negotiations and events, and ensure strong communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct intake with the business for sourcing requests and advise the requester on next steps for negotiations, including auction, procurement activity, and RF(x) events.
  • Oversee and manage category managers and ensure their responsibilities are fulfilled. Negotiate new supplier contracts and renegotiate existing contracts. Drive long term strategies for global, cross-functional teams to improve goods and services supply through the optimization of processes, quality, delivery reliability and suppliers.
  • Develop, define and lead strategies around commercial terms and conditions.
  • Analyze and calculate the cost of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditures.
  • Incorporate sustainability criteria as usual practice during the sourcing process and deliver sustainability initiatives.
  • Lead contract management and invoice reconciliation for assigned categories, and ensure category managers provide efficient and effective contract management and invoice activities
  • Establish and implement best practice sourcing policies and procedures. Ensure category and team compliance to sourcing policies and procedures.
  • Monitor the industry and bring strong business practices to the company to improve overall performance of the company and department.
  • Ensure suppliers are legitimate, reputable, and a good fit for Herbalife, and monitor performance over time.

Languages:

  • Excellent English and Mandarin skills both written and oral

Experience:

  • 10 years of strategic sourcing experience
  • Demonstrated record of exceeding goals in cost savings and supplier performance
  • Demonstrated record of developing relationships with suppliers that has led to improved quality and overall cost reduction.
  • Oracle Super User
  • Coupa Cour Sourcing
  • Microsoft 365 Apps (SharePoint, Forms, OneDrive)

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or university degree, ideally Administration, Economics, Marketing, Finances, Industrial Engineering or related.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: (Share supervisory duties, if applicable)

  • Manages internal and external stakeholders for the assigned categories within APAC and Global team
