Job Description

Job Purpose *

  • The Manager, Sustainable Finance – Consumer Banking Malaysia serves as a purpose-driven Integrated Sustainability Operating Model (ISOM) Specialist, responsible for driving a strong sustainability culture and mindset across Consumer Business Units and Business Enablers. The role plays a pivotal part in advancing sustainable finance initiatives from the forefront, in alignment with the Group's vision to be a sustainability leader in ASEAN.
  • The ISOM function works in close collaboration with the Group Sustainability team, Consumer Banking Business Units and Enablers, fellow ISOM members, and other key stakeholders to support and deliver the Bank's ESG agenda.
  • In addition, the Manager (ISOM) is responsible for ensuring adherence to sustainable governance frameworks and full compliance with relevant regulatory and supervisory requirements.

Key Responsibilities *

  1. Identify new growth opportunities for the Green, Social and Sustainable Impact Products & Services (GSSIPS) portfolio, including green financing and ESG‑themed investment products, through compelling value propositions, strategic partnerships, and targeted campaigns to advance Consumer Sustainable Finance.
  2. Manage GSSIPS and Financial Inclusion performance reporting for Group Consumer Banking, ensuring alignment with Group Sustainability's GSSIPS Framework and Guidelines, in close collaboration with CBPA, GRR, and DM.
  3. Collaborate closely with Consumer Banking Business Units, Business Enablers, and key stakeholders including Group Sustainability to ensure effective delivery of sustainability projects, key innovations, roadmap initiatives, and key milestones in support of the Consumer Sustainability Scorecard KPIs, Sustainable Assurance, and Sustainability Reporting.
  4. Drive the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into product development and marketing decisions, while partnering with Group Sustainability to upskill relevant Consumer Banking teams.
  5. Provide management with clear, data‑driven insights on portfolio performance and innovation impact, and support strategic proposals, dashboards, and ad‑hoc reporting for governance forums such as GSC, BGSC, Economic Inclusion Taskforce, and related committees.
  6. Work closely with Learning & Development on Sustainable Academy capacity‑building initiatives (e.g. Yellow Belt programmes) to enhance awareness and application of CIMB's sustainability practices and ambitions across Consumer Banking staffs.
  7. Support Group‑wide Consumer ESG initiatives and events, including The Cooler Earth, Kita Bagi Jadi activities and other sustainability‑related programmes.

Relevant Work Experience

Relevant experience with exposure to sustainability and/or business/customer value proposition development.
