Manager, Commercial Controller

Job Profile Summary

The S&M Controller, together with the Business Commercial Head will manage sales and marketing activities of our Viscose business. Based in Kuala Lumpur office, the position reports to the Viscose Business Controller and works closely with business group (BG) senior management and the commercial teams to ensure that our sales activities are properly conducted to meet commercial, profitability, management targets and customer satisfaction.

1. Overall business performance of the viscose business group to meet targeted volume & profitability
2. Partner commercial management to drive business and financial performance
3. Ensure proper trading models, policies, & controls are in place
4. Manage proper & timely market & financial analyses to support management decision making
5. Ensure close monitoring & coordination of production, shipment & sales activities against target
6. Ensure appropriate market pricing, order backlog and proper AR management & collection
7. Maintain tight control over credit approvals, rebate / sales incentives and customer claims
8. Manage optimal inventory level for finished goods and meeting customer delivery requirements
9. Ensure operational / forecast discipline to meet specific business targets for compliance purposes
10. Build good cadence to support timely business & management reviews including annual budget
11. Partner with supply chain to understand and evaluate best logistics options and analyze logistics cost to have meaningful discussion with management.
12. Sales related costs such as rebates and commission to be properly vetted.
13. Maintain control over sales pricing by working with Commercial Head.

Additional Job Description

To be successful in this role, it is recommended that you should have the following skills and qualifications:

1. A degree in the related job field.
2. Professional qualification - Chartered Accountant or equivalent.
3. At least 10 to 15 years of working exposure or experience in a similar role.
4. Some business travel to Kerinci, Riau Province is expected though not a lot; be able to effectively stand in for Business Controller in his/her absence.
