Job Description

About The Job

To develop, implement and maintain the financial risk modelling framework and quantitative infrastructure to support effective identification, assessment, measurement and monitoring of financial risks across the organisation. This includes ownership of modelling methodologies, scenario capabilities, and analytics engines underpinning financial risk management. The role is also responsible for translating modelling outputs into clear Profit & Loss and Comprehensive Income impacts, including under MFRS17 basis, to support earnings volatility assessment, financial planning, and management decision-making.

  • Develops and maintains financial risk models and end-user computing (EUC) tools, ensuring robustness, accuracy and alignment with internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Owns and enhances the modelling infrastructure and methodologies, including ALM models, stress testing engines, and scenario libraries, to support financial risk assessment and decision making.
  • Owns and oversees financial model governance across the organisation, including model documentation, controls, inventory, and governance. This includes coordinating model validation activities and ensuring timely remediation of identified issues.
  • Supports and executes stress testing processes, including parameter generation, scenario translation and running of stress testing engines to produce required outputs.
  • Develops and maintains dashboard data engines and analytics tooling to support Financial Risk Dashboard reporting and management insights.
  • Provides quantitative support for solvency assessments and performs analytics for regulatory submissions (e.g. ASEAN Taxonomy and other supervisory exercises).
  • Support climate scenario analysis and stress testing by translating physical and transition risk drivers into risk parameters and assumptions, and model financial risk impact under different scenarios.
  • Drives automation and innovation initiatives (including AI-enabled tooling) to enhance efficiency, scalability and quality of financial risk modelling processes.
  • Performs quantitative analysis of sensitivities and risk impacts on Profit & Loss and Comprehensive Income under MFRS17 basis with the modelling outputs to support earnings volatility assessment and management decision-making.
  • Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
  • Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

We are looking for people who

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, Investment, Accounting, Actuarial Studies / Insurance or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Knowledge of actuarial, investment, risk management, insurance or financial services operations, capital markets and insurance products.
  • Strong working knowledge of MFRS17 and emerging accounting standards (e.g. IFRS18).
  • Cross-functional knowledge, finance best practice, financial awareness, IT knowledge, analysis and numeracy, business process reengineering, financial procedures and regulations, risk management methodology and procedures, risk analysis and management, risk management tools, investment management tools, asset and liability valuation, reinsurance knowledge, and financial modelling.
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
