JOB DESCRIPTION
- Reporting to the Head of Section / Head of Department.
- Responsible for management of audit portfolio and provide supervisory direction to the audit team, including performing and oversight of audit of the investment activities.
- Assist management in achieving objectives of the auditable entities by providing value-adding recommendations in respect of risk management, internal controls and corporate governance.
- Perform risk assessment to identify and analyze objectives and risks in order to determine adequate and sufficient scope of audit and area of focus.
- Act as Team Lead, responsible to assist in structuring and allocating audit resources effectively, ensuring optimal team deployment, clear role assignments, and efficient coordination across audit engagements and stakeholder groups to ensure audit executions are meeting desired timeline and outcomes.
- The role offers exposure to EPF's global investment portfolio, requiring engagement with international fund managers, cross-border regulatory environments, and diverse governance structures across multiple jurisdictions.
- Participate in project management activities as observer / advisory role, taking account the agile development methodology approach and staying abreast of latest/relevant internal control / governance practices.
- Review audit working papers to ensure executions are meeting the necessary audit standards.
- Generate audit report and summary of audit findings for presentation to Board Audit Committee / Senior Management / subsidiaries Board of Directors / Head of Department / Head of Section, drawing attention to areas of particular concern, weakness or improvement points and making recommendations for further actions to address any observations.
- Participate in continuous improvement in the audit process and reporting by staying abreast of global trends in internal audit, investment governance, and risk management.
- Utilize data analytics platforms (such as ACL and Power BI), and automated testing tools to enhance audit insights, improve efficiency and coverage, and stay abreast of emerging technologies including AI-driven risk assessments and ESG tracking solutions.
- Other ad-hoc duties as requested from time to time.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Professional Qualifications in Accounting / Finance / Business Studies / Islamic Finance / Law or fields related thereto. Those with professional qualifications or certifications (ACCA/ICAEW/MICPA/CIMA/CPA/CIA/CFA) will have added advantage.
- At least 5 years working experience with Big 4 accounting firm in Investment Audit.
- Understanding of investment processes, corporate governance, and regulatory frameworks, including the Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS) and COSO Integrated Internal Control Framework.
- Experience in cross-border audits, international investment structures, or regional coordination will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with cross-border governance, foreign regulatory environments, and international investment structures, along with experience in multicultural stakeholder engagement or regional coordination, is recommended.
- Knowledge of risk management and subsidiaries or group corporate governance within financial or investment institutions will be an added advantage.
- High integrity with strong analytical, result oriented, process-driven, self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work both independently and as a team member.
- Good interpersonal skills, able to work in a diverse environment and build good working relationships with business partners.
- Good report-writing, communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in both oral and written Malay and English language.
