About the Role
As Manager, Onboarding, you will oversee the end-to-end onboarding operations, ensuring high-quality customer due diligence, compliance with AML/KYC requirements, and timely account openings. You will lead, coach, and develop a team of Onboarding Analysts while acting as a key point of escalation and subject matter expert for complex onboarding and compliance matters.
You will work closely with Sales, Compliance, Risk, and Product teams to enhance onboarding efficiency, mitigate compliance risks, and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Onboarding Analysts, ensuring consistent performance and adherence to internal policies
- Provide day-to-day guidance, training, and coaching to enhance technical competency and professional development
- Conduct performance reviews, support career development, and foster a strong compliance culture within the team
Onboarding Oversight & Quality Assurance
- Oversee and review account opening assessments to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Customer Acceptance Policy and AML/CFT requirements
- Act as escalation point for complex or high-risk onboarding cases, including name screening hits and enhanced due diligence
- Ensure onboarding SLAs and quality benchmarks are consistently met
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner closely with Sales and Business teams to provide clear guidance on CDD requirements and onboarding timelines
- Liaise with Compliance, Risk, and other control functions on regulatory, policy, and audit-related matters
- Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance inquiries related to onboarding
Process Improvement & Risk Mitigation
- Analyse onboarding processes and systems to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and emerging risks
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and control enhancements to support business scalability and reduce compliance risk
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of onboarding policies, procedures, and training materials
Reporting & Ad Hoc Responsibilities
- Prepare and present onboarding metrics, risk indicators, and management reports
- Handle ad hoc projects and tasks assigned by senior management
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in banking or handling of end-to-end onboarding of new/existing customer accounts in accordance to AML/CFT policies
- Prior leadership/team lead experience preferred
- Professional written and verbal communication in English and Mandarin (plus point)
- Strong attention to details
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent interpersonal communication skill
- An independent self-motivated individual
