Job Description

Department: Product Management and Development

The Role:

  • Responsible for the implementation of various product initiatives to meet company's business goals, Group standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the product pipeline and execute development timelines for product initiatives for all distribution channels.
  • To ensure good quality and accuracy of deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Driving product and marketing strategy to ensure speed to market solutions and aligned to the company's strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage product lifecycle by continuously assessing performance and making necessary adjustments to maximise value and identify opportunities for product differentiation
  • Adapt and enhance product proposition to remain relevant and compelling for target customers
  • Establish product specifications and conduct usability testing to assess the feasibility of the product
  • Understand the product designs and work closely with Product team members on technical implementation areas so that the product initiatives can be implemented effectively and on timely basis.
  • Chair and lead weekly Agile Product Development meeting with the product task force to manage progress, risks and issues for product launches and various product and / or regulatory initiatives.
  • Coordinate and work closely with various departments (e.g. Legal, Compliance, Operations, IT, Actuarial and Marketing departments) to ensure that all the resources are well coordinated so that the product initiatives can be implemented smoothly with good quality and launched as per agreed timeline.
  • Oversee the quality and manage the timeline of materials delivered by Product team members.
  • Responsible to ensure all the necessary documentations and approval are complete and on time as required under the Product Development Process (PDP) and Product Management Framework (PMF).
  • Manage and keep track Product Day 2 items to ensure the system backlog is cleared as scheduled.
  • Review the PDP and PMF guideline on annual basis and support audit exercise when necessary.
  • Responsible (with support from the respective Product Team Lead) to gather market intelligence, perform product competitive analysis, design the product competitiveness materials and share it with the distribution teams to help support sales.
  • Provide ideas/inputs pertaining to products, product concepts, market trends, for new products/product enhancements consideration.
  • Responsible for product-related approvals to Product Management Committee (PMC), Risk Management Committee of Directors (RMCD), Board of Directors and other committees where applicable.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Minimum Degree holder with at least 6 years working experience in product development or product implementation area in insurance industry
  • Strong project management skill
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skill
  • Good leadership and stakeholder management skills with business sense
  • Confident, proactive and self-organised
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen
