Job Description:
Project Management
- Ensure projects are delivered to standards (on time, in budget, in line with specifications, including Sibelco- and country-specific Health & Safety standards)
- Ensure clear upfront project scope definition
- Ensure alignment on project assumptions in business case
- Direct full life-cycle including concept studies, feasibility studies, execution, commissioning, start-up, handover and close out
- Responsible for project cost definition and cost control
- Responsible for project reporting, in conjunction with Sibelco finance department
- Through the Sibelco procurement department, engage consultants and contractors as required for engineering, procurement and construction
- Through the Sibelco sustainability department, ensure required planning and construction permitting requirements are included in the project timelines
People Management
- Manage and coordinate the project team(s) which will consist of some dedicated team members (Sibelco permanent or contingent), external service providers and Sibelco support functions including Operations, H&S, Procurement, Finance, Sustainability, Geology & Mining, IS, Legal, Operations Excellence
- Ensure the project team is fully staffed with all required know-how and competencies and ready to deliver the project
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure projects are in compliance with Sibelco project policies, standards and processes and in compliance with legal requirements
- Flag and escalate potential issues and roadblocks to the project SteerCo and the relevant higher management to enable prompt resolution
- Ensure visibility on project performance & proper project performance reporting
Safety leadership
- Provide Safety Leadership through project team meetings and regular safety inspections of construction activities.
- Ensure timely investigation and reporting on all safety incidents.
- Ensure compliance with accident report recommendations to prevent further occurrences.
Stakeholder management
- Operations is the key client. The role requires understanding of key issues in Operations and how the project contributes to their performance
- Ensure supporting functions listed above are kept informed and involved at the right time to enable them to contribute to the project in a meaningful way

Industry knowledge

Proven track record of strong people management skills, able to manage diverse teams remotely.
