Job Description

Job Purpose

To support the planning and carry out the execution of reward programs and initiatives in Malaysia and across the Group. The jobholder's primary responsibility is to manage the compensation research portfolio, which entails comprehensive market remuneration and benefits research, job benchmarking and in depth/structured analysis of compensation survey/study results. Accurate and up-to-date data is crucial to enable the Bank to develop a robust and competitive compensation to support the Bank's strategic imperatives. The jobholder also has the secondary responsibilities to manage the Annual Review process, management of share plans and undertaking preparatory work on on-going Group HR or Regional Rewards projects.

Key Responsibilities

Rewards Management

  • Undertakes Survey/Research across the Group to support the formulation of compensation and benefits policies
  • Conducts/Research and co-ordinates Market Surveys to develop a robust and accurate database to support the business and/or HR strategies
  • Monitor reviews of compensation and benefits packages to maintain market positioning
  • Support the Annual / Mid-year review exercise across the Group
  • Responsible for accurate data collection and analysis for the purpose of annual review exercise to ensure data integrity and reliability at all times
  • Support the compilation and analysis of annual / mid-year review process
  • Benefits Management
  • Manage the benefits inventory for the Group
  • Keeps abreast of changes in the benefits proposition and trend in the market to maintain our competitiveness
  • Data Intelligence and Reporting
  • Manage the HR rewards (base pay, variable pay, benefits) related information and analysis to support business decision as and when required
  • Management of share plans
  • Manage and coordinate the administration of all share-based compensation in the Group
  • Provide support and guidance to share plan participants and Country HR Heads on share plan related matters
  • Review and update related guidelines for internal reference as and when necessary
  • Support and assist Director, Regional Rewards and Performance to review plan for updates in tax and regulation for the Group

Project

  • Supports Group / Rewards initiatives / projects
  • Undertake the preparatory groundwork for HR projects/initiatives vis-à-vis research and conducting feasibility study, project costing and budgeting, liaison with external service providers if required to ensure project takes off smoothly and implemented on scheduled.

Customer Relationship and Support

  • Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on compensation and benefits issues and processes
  • Provide continuous support to HR Business Partners in Malaysia and across the Group; only escalate up when policy matters arise.

Risk & Compliance

  • Assist in the development of Group and entities in Malaysia's policies and procedures to support the rewards function.
  • Ensure compensation and benefits standards comply with company policies and/or other regulations or legislation.
  • Maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring.

Others

  • Any other responsibilities / task as assigned by management from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in the relevant discipline (HR Management/Mathematics/Statistics/Business/Finance)

Relevant Work Experience

  • 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in financial services industry or consulting, with strong knowledge in rewards management

Competencies/Skills

Technical/Functional skills

  • In-depth knowledge of market benchmarking methodology and compensation structure
  • Knowledge of banking business and its challenges including the remuneration rules and regulations in the domestic and international landscapes that applies
  • Strong in MS Office skills including Words, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of any HR system and HR process orientation

Personal skills (Soft Competencies [Core/Leadership])

  • Strong team player and tactful in handling confidential matters
  • Very meticulous and attention to details
  • Strong writing skills
  • Need to have strong communication skills, required in managing the HRBPs, line managers, HODs, whenever necessary
