We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Manager, Tax Compliance & Advisory based in Kuala Lumpur. Reporting to the Head of Business, this full-time and permanent position is based in Malaysia and offers great coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our business and its growth.

Job Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Manage and oversee corporate tax compliance, including preparation, review, and timely submission of tax returns (Form C, CP204, CP204A, etc.).
  • Ensure accurate computation of tax provisions, deferred tax, and current tax for statutory and management reporting.
  • Oversee indirect tax compliance (SST, withholding tax, service tax), ensuring timely filings and payments.
  • Monitor changes in Malaysian tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.

Tax Advisory & Risk Management

  • Identify tax risks and exposures, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Provide tax advice to internal stakeholders on business transactions, contracts, and new initiatives.
  • Support tax planning initiatives to optimise tax efficiency while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.

Audit & Authority Liaison

  • Act as the main point of contact for Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) and other tax authorities.
  • Manage tax audits, investigations, and queries, including preparation of supporting documentation and responses.
  • Coordinate with external tax consultants, auditors, and advisors as required.

Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Work closely with Finance, Legal, and Business Units to ensure tax compliance across operations.
  • Review work prepared by junior team members and provide guidance, coaching, and technical support.
  • Drive continuous improvement in tax processes, controls, and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum degree in Finance/Accounting or professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CPA/CIA) or equivalent.
  • At least 7 years of experience in taxation especially in client facing environment.
  • Have a good understanding and knowledge of tax principles.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Good client and people management skills.
