Job Description

The Manufacturing Intern supports daily manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment. The intern will gain hands-on experience in manufacturing processes, production planning, quality systems, process optimization, data analysis, and lean manufacturing practices while assisting the operations team in achieving productivity, quality, safety, and delivery objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Support production teams in daily operational activities and problem-solving efforts.
  • Collect, analyze, and report manufacturing data, including production output, cycle time, downtime, and scrap rates.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing projects.
  • Assist with developing and updating work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process documentation.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities for production and quality issues.
  • Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and process observations.
  • Assist in implementing 5S, visual management, and workplace organization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Production.
  • Support inventory management, material flow improvements, and production planning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and project updates for management review.

Requirements


  • Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in:
    • Manufacturing Engineering
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Mechatronics Engineering
    • Operations Management
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Related technical disciplines
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production operations.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement concepts is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate meaningful insights.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
