Manufacturing Engineering Internship
Join our dynamic Manufacturing Engineering team and gain handson exposure to real production environments. This internship offers the opportunity to work directly on manufacturing floor operations, process optimization initiatives, and engineering improvement projects that drive efficiency, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing process improvements by analyzing workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing solutions to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Assist with data collection and reporting, including cycle time studies, downtime tracking, production yields, and other key performance metrics.
- Participate in root cause analysis sessions (e.g., 5-Why, Fishbone) to help resolve production issues and prevent recurrence.
- Update and develop engineering documentation, including work instructions, SOPs, and process flow diagrams to ensure alignment with actual shopfloor practices.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to support daytoday manufacturing operations and continuous improvement tasks.
- Contribute to Lean and process improvement initiatives, such as 5S, waste reduction projects, layout optimization, and productivity enhancement activities.
- Assist engineers in time studies, tooling reviews, equipment capability checks, and other handson engineering tasks on the manufacturing floor.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Chemical, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., assembly, machining, SMT, testing) and engineering fundamentals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel for data analysis, PowerPoint for reporting, Word for documentation).
- Ability to be based in Bayan Lepas, Penang for the internship duration.
