Job Description

Summary:

We are looking for a passionate, creative and self-starting individual to join our team as the Marketing Communications Manager. The incumbent will work closely with the CEO to drive marketing efforts and communications activities in line with the Organisation's objectives. The Marketing Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in cultivating strong relationships with our stakeholders including the media and in driving the brand awareness of Cancer Research Malaysia.

Main Responsibilities:

1. To manage and organise events like fun runs and donor dinners for brand awareness and fundraising purposes, in close collaboration with Donor Engagement team.

2. Manage and update social media assets with relevant and engaging content. Be able to boost ads through Meta ads to get traffic, engagement and event promotion. Measure and drive social media success.

3. Create online content for brand awareness, engagement and traffic to all organisation online platforms and website.

4. Ensure call-to-action follow-through for all content and measure rate of success for engagement.

5. Establish and implement creative marketing and communication strategies to enhance the Organisation's brand identity and raise the awareness on cancer research.

6. Drive PR activities & journalists engagement, including media pitch, and develop media materials e.g. press releases, media invites and factsheets

7. Develop and deliver internal communication messages to employees and ensure messages are consistent both internally and externally.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, public relations, communications or related field is required.
  2. At least 5 years experience in a project-lead role either in-house or with an agency; possess experience in planning, writing, editing, and production of newsletters, press releases, annual reports, marketing literature, and other print publications including for new media.
  3. Have knowledge and experience in digital marketing and performance marketing. Having relationship with bloggers / other influencers is a plus.
  4. Good written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, CRMY's Board of Trustees and staff, government and regulatory bodies, donors, potential donors and other stakeholders.
  5. Good written and verbal skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Written and verbal skills in Mandarin is a plus.
