Marketing Development Specialist (Telco Infrastructure) - Drive Commercial Growth in Large-Scale Telecom Infrastructure Projects

We are seeking a commercially strong and analytically driven Marketing Development Specialist with experience in telecommunications infrastructure, network rollout, or managed services environments. This role focuses on driving business growth, evaluating project opportunities, and supporting commercial decision-making within large-scale telco infrastructure projects.
You will work closely with project teams, clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies to identify new opportunities, assess project viability, and ensure strong commercial performance across fibre, tower, and network infrastructure initiatives.
What you'll be doing:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across telecommunications infrastructure and network services, including fiber, managed optical services, colocation, and digital infrastructure services.
- Build and maintain a strong business relationship with OTT, hyperscaler, regional wholesale carriers, DC operators and infrastructure ecosystem partners.
- Lead presales engagements by working closely with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with external connectivity partners, technology vendors, internal engineering, planning, operations, and project teams to develop technically feasible, scalable, and commercially competitive solutions.
- Develop commercial models, cost structures, and pricing strategies for telecom infrastructure and network service opportunities in collaboration with engineering & planning, finance specialist, and external providers.
- Lead contract structuring, commercial negotiations, and service agreements to optimise commercial outcomes while mitigating operational and contractual risks.
- Prepare pricing proposals, cost analysis, profitability assessment, and financial reports to support project bids and customer opportunities.
- Develop technical-commercial proposals in response to RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, develop and maintain GTM presentations, and customer-facing solution documentation.
- Collaborate with project delivery teams in ensuring adherence to technical, operational, and commercial commitments under customer and partner agreements.
- Assist with permitting, licensing, and coordination with relevant government and regulatory authorities in fulfilling project delivery.
- Develop partnerships with network operators, infrastructure providers and technology partners to expand network reach, service capabilities, and infrastructure footprint.
- Participate in government's stakeholder relation, industry engagement and consortium initiatives.
What you should have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in telecom infrastructure, telco service providers, network rollout, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of telecom infrastructure business models (fibre, bandwidth, or managed network services).
- Experience in commercial analysis, project costing, or business development in infrastructure projects.
- Strong financial acumen with ability to assess project profitability and risk.
- Good negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and project teams.
- Familiarity with financial structures and telecom project economics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and reporting.
- Experience dealing with regulatory or authority processes in telecom infrastructure projects is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel and support on-site project activities when required.
Salary Range: RM 10000 – RM 12000
