Auto Elegance Sdn Bhd is a Petaling Jaya based automotive dealership with a long track record in Malaysia's passenger vehicle market. We are part of a growing automotive group representing GWM (Great Wall Motor) in Malaysia, a global brand offering electric vehicles (EVs), SUVs and off road SUVs under nameplates such as ORA, HAVAL and TANK.

GWM's line up in Malaysia includes models like ORA Good Cat, ORA 07, HAVAL H6 HEV, TANK 300 and TANK 500 HEV, combining advanced technology with distinctive design and strong value.

Our showrooms are designed to deliver a modern, customer centric experience backed by quality products, transparent advice, and strong after sales support. As we expand our network and product portfolio, we are looking for a Marketing Manager to build our brand presence, drive showroom traffic, and lead the marketing function for Auto Elegance.

Role Overview

As Marketing Manager (Automotive – GWM), you will own the end to end marketing agenda for Auto Elegance's GWM business. Your role is to turn marketing into a clear driver of enquiries, test drives, and sales across GWM's EV and SUV range.

You will shape how GWM is positioned in our market, plan and run integrated campaigns (digital + on ground), manage our digital presence and lead generation, and work closely with the Sales and Management teams to ensure every campaign supports business targets and model priorities.

This is a hands on role: you will be responsible for both strategy and day to day execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing Strategy & Planning

Develop and own the annual marketing plan for Auto Elegance (GWM), covering awareness, lead generation, and customer retention.

Translate sales objectives (units, model mix, stock focus, new launches like ORA or HAVAL models) into clear marketing priorities and KPIs.

Analyse customer profiles, catchment areas, and competitor activity (other Chinese and non Chinese brands) to refine positioning and campaign themes.

  • Integrated Campaigns (Online & Offline)

Plan and execute integrated campaigns across digital, social, CRM, print, outdoor, and events to drive showroom visits and test drives.

Support new model introductions and key campaigns (e.g. HAVAL H6 HEV, ORA launches, TANK promotions) with structured launch plans and tactical offers.

Localise and implement principal / GWM Malaysia campaigns at dealership level, ensuring alignment with national brand direction.

  • Digital & Performance Marketing

Manage the dealership's digital presence: website content, landing pages, online listings, and review platforms.

Plan, execute, and optimise paid media campaigns (search, social, display, video) to generate qualified leads at target cost per lead.

Oversee social media channels (content calendar, creatives, community management) to build engagement and brand preference for GWM.

Work with the sales team to design lead handling flows and simple CRM journeys (email / WhatsApp / SMS) that move prospects from enquiry to test drive and booking.

  • Retail Marketing, Events & Partnerships

Plan and manage showroom level marketing: in showroom displays, GWM model zones, POSM, window visuals, and test drive experience.

Organise roadshows, test drive events, mall activations, corporate previews and customer appreciation activities to broaden reach and deepen loyalty.

Identify and develop local partnerships (corporates, communities, lifestyle brands, fleet customers) that can bring incremental traffic and visibility.

  • Brand, Content & Creative

Ensure consistent use of GWM brand guidelines and model key messages across all marketing materials.

Brief, manage, and quality check creative work from agencies, freelancers, and internal designers (key visuals, videos, brochures, banners, digital assets).

Develop content that explains GWM vehicle features, safety, technology (e.g. Hi4 hybrid technology), ownership benefits, and financing options in a clear, customer friendly way.

  • Insights, Reporting & Budget Management

Track and report on campaign performance (traffic, leads, test drives, cost per lead, conversions) with clear recommendations for optimisation.

Monitor competitor campaigns, pricing communication, and creative, and share market insights with management and the principal where relevant.

Manage the marketing A&P budget, ensuring spend is focused on high ROI activities and remains within allocation.

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

Work closely with the Sales Manager and sales team to align marketing activities with monthly focus models, sales targets, and pipeline realities.

Liaise with GWM Malaysia / principal marketing teams on assets, approvals, campaign calendars, and reporting requirements.

Manage relationships with agencies, media, influencers, and production vendors to deliver campaigns on time and on brand.

Requirements

Experience

Minimum 5 - 8 years experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in automotive, mobility, or related premium consumer brands.

Experience with Chinese automotive brands (e.g. GWM, BYD, Chery, etc.) or dealership marketing is an advantage.

Technical Skills

Proven track record in integrated marketing (digital, social, events, PR) with measurable impact on leads and sales.

Hands on experience with digital marketing tools (Meta/Google ads, basic SEO/SEM, analytics dashboards, social media management).

Comfortable planning and managing marketing budgets and working with agencies and vendors.

Soft Skills

Strategic and structured, but willing to be hands on with execution.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across sales, management, and principal teams.

Data driven mindset; comfortable interpreting campaign and sales data to make decisions.

Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast moving environment.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.

Language

Mandarin Required (to engage with GWM/principal teams and Mandarin speaking customers).

Strong proficiency in English; Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage.
