Job Description

We are inviting motivated degree holders to join a multidisciplinary research project at the intersection of fluid dynamics and biomedical engineering.

This project focuses on mathematical modelling and numerical computation of blood flow subjected to contrast agent injection, a critical process in CT scan imaging. The research will involve developing governing equations, solving nonlinear boundary value problems, and analysing thermal effects in blood vessels.

This is a fully research-based Master project, suitable for students aiming for:

  • PhD continuation
  • High-impact journal publications
  • Strong CFD and applied mathematics expertise

Responsibilities

The Master's student will be responsible for:

  • Developing mathematical models for blood flow and heat transfer in blood vessels
  • Performing numerical simulations using MATLAB or Python
  • Interpreting physical and biomedical relevance of simulation results
  • Preparing thesis chapters, technical reports, and journal manuscripts

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in:
  • Applied Mathematics
  • Mathematics
  • Engineering (Mechanical / Chemical / Biomedical)

Strong background in:

  • Differential equations
  • Fluid mechanics
  • Heat transfer
  • Willingness to learn advanced numerical methods and modelling techniques

Preferred (but not mandatory):

  • Experience with MATLAB or Python
  • Exposure to CFD, boundary layer theory, or numerical analysis
  • Interest in biomedical or healthcare-related research
  • Good academic writing skills in English
