Our client, a global leader in lithium-ion battery and energy storage manufacturing, is looking for an experienced Material Control Specialist to safeguard the steady flow of materials that keeps their production lines running — a senior supply chain role at the heart of the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take ownership of material delivery performance, making sure production always has what it needs, when it needs it.
- Manage purchase orders from issuance through to delivery — confirming pricing, chasing timelines, and keeping records accurate.
- Stay closely tuned to market conditions and flag supply risks early, working with the strategic sourcing team to adjust plans accordingly.
- Assess supplier production capacity on an ongoing basis and build capacity plans that keep pace with business demand.
- Adjust delivery schedules in response to shifting demand, while actively managing down excess or slow-moving inventory.
- Hold responsibility for raw material stock levels within your assigned commodity group.
- Drive resolution when incoming materials don't meet spec — coordinating closely with Quality and the supplier on root cause and corrective action.
- Coordinate the return, replacement, or disposition of defective materials between the plant and external suppliers in a timely manner.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7 or more years of experience in procurement or materials management, gained within the new energy or electronics manufacturing sector.
- Solid grasp of core procurement practices — supplier lifecycle management, order/contract handling, and market/supply analysis.
- Comfortable working across related functions, including procurement operations, inspection & returns, and engineering change management.
- Sharp market awareness for your material category — able to speak to industry trends, supply chain shifts, and competing resource pressures.
- Strong command of English with working proficiency in Mandarin; confident using SAP/ERP and Excel.
- A confident communicator and negotiator who can engage stakeholders across all levels of the business.
