About the Role
The Supply Chain Specialist will be responsible for Material Requirement Planning ownership for commodity (DM/ODM/IDM), ensuring 100% assurance of supply for manufacturing plant operations (ASSY, Test, Mark & Pack).
Responsibilities
- Primary contact person within the manufacturing plant inventory control for DM/ODMs/IDMs issues and providing solutions.
- Ensure ideal inventory equilibrium, as per the established corporate financials.
- Monitor Shelf Life of Materials and manage expired stock disposition.
- Monitor the supplier delivery accuracy to ensure accurate goods arrival to meet scheduled production activities and able to drive supplier delivery improvement.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of key materials by pursuing and managing through Vendor Manage Inventory (VMI) / Just In Time (JIT) initiatives.
- Work with the stakeholders in Penang, Suzhou to standardize processes, reduce redundancies and improve efficiencies by collaborating on process/automation improvement projects.
- Trigger Purchase Request when stock reaches the re-order level and follow up closely with suppliers.
- Plan and schedule material requirements, by maximizing inventory turns and reducing stock holding.
- Create, assign & approve new material part numbers for new stock requests and manage stock change requests.
- Liaise closely with suppliers and end users for 100% material support for NPI, LVM, and HVM.
- Close collaboration with suppliers, customers to pull in and push out material delivery arrangement and improve supplier delivery commits or production capacity.
- Coordinate with suppliers, customers and expedite shipment clearance for timely arrival to support customer loading requirement published by Production Planning/Production Control.
- Monitor and ensure On Time Delivery (OTD) performance for suppliers and evaluate accordingly during Supplier reviews.
- Ensure that the relevant reports are being generated, consolidated, summarized and distributed on a timely basis (commodity usage/stock report).
- Be well versed in SAP MM module/tools within material planning department.
- Support relevant ad hoc tasks as required by management.
- Monitors inventory adjustments to determine procedural justification and processes accordingly.
- Answers and/or resolves inventory questions from various departments and customers.
- Handle enquiries from and liaise with governmental and third parties, including export and import documentations.
- Responsible to maintain proper record of activities, including timing tracking of deliveries, receipts documentation.
- Other duties assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications & Required Skills
- Degree in commerce/finance/business management or other related course.
- Excellent oral and written skills in English.
- 0-5 years industrial experience with relevant experience specializing in Material Planning, Supply Chain, Procurement.
- Knowledge of Semiconductor Industry with strong analytical and commercial knowledge.
- Knowledge of IC manufacturing in order to work seamlessly among other departments.
- Strong knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Strong communication, expression and coordination skill.
- Able to perform in-depth research and resolve complicated issues, with minimum supervision.
- Must be a self-starter, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Strong SAP/ERP and Microsoft (Intermediate to Advance) Excel skills.
