Celestica is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join a team to design industrial machinery. Duties include:

  • 3D model creation and production drafting for new product design of industrial machinery
  • Work with the customer to refine production specifications and execute their product vision
  • Consult with Manufacturing to resolve issues and improve product manufacturability
  • Update documents of existing designs to resolve issues such as EOL components, manufacturability issues and customer requests
  • Mentor technicians and junior engineers to develop their skill sets

Qualified candidates will have experience in most of these areas:

  • Weldment design
  • Sheet metal parts
  • Metal and plastic machined parts
  • Electro-mechanical designs
  • Vacuum process systems including detailed chamber design, design for cost and manufacturability in large format CNC machining, OEM part selection and integration, and testing requirements. Preferred experience in the semiconductor market. (This experience is preferred but not required.)
  • Assembly models and drawings
  • Drafting
  • Autodesk Inventor (required) and Solidworks (advantage)
  • Engineering Change Management
  • Some MRP system exposure
  • Some QMS exposure
  • Microsoft Office
  • New product development and sustaining engineering
  • Design for Manufacturability, Design for Cost

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6 10 years of experience
