Mechanical Design Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible to lead, mentor, and manage a team of mechanical engineers and designers.
• Develop team capabilities through training, coaching, and performance management.
• Allocate resources effectively to ensure timely project delivery.
• Define and implement R&D strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Drive innovation in mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies, tools, and industry best practices.
• Oversee mechanical design and development from concept to production.
• Ensure product compliance with industry standards, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Electrical, Software, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain) to deliver integrated product solutions.
• Drive design for manufacturability (DFM), reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and reduce development cycle times.
• Plan & manage project schedule.
• Provide detailed guidelines/reference for engineers according to design specification.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of working experience in the related field is required.
• Expertise in mechanical design and product development.
• Strong understanding of material characteristics and engineering calculations.
• Capable of translating customer requirements into technical design specifications.
• Skilled in coordinating design phases, project timelines, and technical reviews.
• Experienced in technical proposal writing and presenting to customers.
• Familiar with ISO standards, safety practices and design compliance.
• Knowledge in manufacturing processes, tooling verification, and cost-effective automation solutions.
• Proficient in SolidWorks (3D CAD design).
• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D drafting and layout).
• Skilled in simulation tools and detailed mechanical analysis.
• Competent in creating engineering documentation, SOPs, and manufacturing guides.
• Familiar with design for manufacturing (DFM), robotics and machine design fundamentals.
