Mechanical Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead Mechanical and HVAC engineering projects from concept design through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and final handover for industrial and mission-critical facilities.
• Design and oversee industrial HVAC systems, including chilled water plants, ventilation systems, cleanrooms, exhaust systems, process cooling, utility systems, and energy-efficient mechanical infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership on feasibility studies, system assessments, design reviews, equipment selection, troubleshooting, and optimization of mechanical and HVAC systems.
• Ensure all mechanical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, industry codes, safety requirements, and client specifications while meeting operational and production needs.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and technical deliverables to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
• Support tender preparation, technical proposals, contractor evaluation, and client negotiations to deliver commercially successful project outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, equipment vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop practical and cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Conduct engineering reviews of 3D BIM models, identify design clashes, coordinate resolution activities, and drive design integration across disciplines.
• Participate in testing, commissioning, startup, and performance validation of HVAC and mechanical systems to ensure compliance with design intent and operational requirements.
• Develop technical reports, design calculations, engineering specifications, presentations, and project documentation for clients and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, serve as a trusted technical advisor, and support business development activities within the industrial sector.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers, ensuring engineering quality and fostering professional development within the team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 8-10+ years of experience in Mechanical/HVAC engineering, preferably within industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, data center, cleanroom, or process plant environments
• Strong experience in the design, operation, and optimization of industrial HVAC systems, including chilled water systems, ventilation, exhaust systems, cleanrooms, dust collection, process cooling, and energy-efficient building utilities
• Must be a registered engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)
• Demonstrated experience managing Mechanical/HVAC projects from concept design through construction, commissioning, and handover, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
• Passion for delivering sustainable, energy-efficient, and high-performance industrial facilities, with a focus on operational reliability, process requirements, and lifecycle cost optimization
• Strong technical capability in HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, energy analysis, ventilation design, and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently, lead project discussions, and build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and consultants
• Proficiency in engineering and digital design tools such as Revit, BIM, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks, and BIM360, with experience coordinating designs in 3D environments.
• Ability to review and navigate multidisciplinary BIM models, identify design clashes, provide practical engineering solutions, and drive issue resolution across project teams
• Experience with commissioning, retrofits, system upgrades, and optimization of HVAC and utility systems in operational industrial facilities would be highly advantageous
