We are seeking a
Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in mechanical product development for thermal or fluid-based systems. The role focuses on the design, validation, and technical leadership of Coolant Distribution Units (CDU).
An ambitious and motivated VAVE engineers with Mechanical backgrounds to join our R&D team. A VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) Engineer optimizes product value by reducing costs while maintaining or enhancing quality, functionality, and performance. They analyze designs, materials, and manufacturing processes, collaborating with R&D, procurement, and production teams to implement cost-effective solutions and improve efficiency. Responsibilities
- Drive validation cost-optimized solutions for existing and new products under VAVE (Value Analysis and Value Engineering) initiatives.
- Cost Reduction & Analysis: Identify and implement opportunities to reduce product costs through teardowns, benchmarking, and cost modeling (material, labor, logistics).
- Design Improvement: Utilize CAD/CAE tools for 3D modeling, detailed drawings, and tolerance analysis.
- Manufacturability (DFM/DFS): Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Service (DFS) principles to enhance production efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, supplier, procurement, and manufacturing teams to validate and implement engineering changes and refine designs and achieve cost, quality, and schedule goals.
- Testing & Validation: Coordinate component qualification, prototyping, and testing to ensure performance standards are maintained.
- Documentation: Maintain DFMEA, PFMEA, engineering documents, and technical reports.
- Manage 3D models, 2D drawings, and product documentation using PTC Creo and PLM tools.
- Provide technical direction for component and system-level design, validation, and integration across cross-functional teams.
- Coordinate BoM creation, product release activities, and Engineering Change Orders using PLM tools.
- Support mechanical engineering activities for New Product Development (NPD) projects, from concept through production launch.
- Support on Engineered-to-Order (ETO) design projects to meet customer requirements in a team environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering.
- 5-7 years of experience in product development and mechanical system design.
- Strong understanding of thermal and fluid systems, HVAC, hydronic, or data centre cooling products.
- Strong knowledge of Six Sigma and process improvement (Six Sigma Certification Green/Black are a plus)
- Knowledge of cost-reduction methodologies (Value Engineering/Value Analysis).
- Experience with supplier collaboration and design-for-cost programs.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as PTC Creo and PLM systems such as Oracle PD Cloud or equivalent.
- Familiarity with UL, CE, or ASME standards.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., metal fabrication, molding, assembly).
