MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Job Responsibilities

• Assist engineers and project managers in mechanical works at construction sites.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdown requests as instructed by the supervisor.
• Inspect, install, test, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment.
• Carry out troubleshooting and fault analysis for mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Perform scheduled and periodic maintenance inspections of equipment.
• Repair and recondition mechanical and hydraulic components as required.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Monitor site progress and ensure works are carried out according to project requirements and safety standards.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and site workers on mechanical installations.
• Keep the immediate supervisor informed of work progress, results, and any issues or potential problems, and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment.
• Prepare technical reports, work schedules, and maintenance records.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company procedures.
• Support testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems.

Requirements

• Diploma, ITE certification, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Relevant experience in the construction or engineering industry is preferred.
• Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring tools.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and maintenance practices.
• Pleasant personality, good communication and coordination skills.
• Team player and self-motivated.
• Familiarity with construction safety standards is an advantage.
