About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Resident Engineer to oversee mechanical works on construction projects. You will ensure installations are completed according to approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements while coordinating with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise mechanical installation works on construction sites.
  • Ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Monitor installation of HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, sanitary, fire protection, and mechanical equipment.
  • Review shop drawings, material submissions, and technical documents.
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure quality workmanship.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and other engineering disciplines to resolve site issues.
  • Witness testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare site inspection reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and project standards.
  • Support project handover by reviewing as-built drawings and operation & maintenance documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or construction/site supervision.
  • Experience in building services projects such as commercial buildings, hospitals, high-rise developments, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • HVAC systems
    • Chilled water systems
    • Plumbing & sanitary systems
    • Fire protection systems
  • Familiar with testing & commissioning procedures and local authority requirements.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience

  • Experience working as a Resident Engineer or Site Supervisor.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC processes and contractor management.
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety and compliance.
