Responsibilities:
The mechanical technician possesses knowledge in the mechanical maintenance field applicable within his/her working area. The role accountability is to the deliverable of the maintenance KPIs of the production lines and its auxiliary equipment. S/he is accountable for the mechanical maintenance during his/her shift, assuring safety compliance on maintenance works and contributing to the Run to standard culture (Safety, Quality, CILs*, Condition Base Maintenance & Preventive Maintenance).
The Technician contributes to the implementation of the Maintenance Roadmap based on the Site Strategy and follows 5S & basic standard conditions principles.
- Roles & Responsibilities
- Being mechanical expert in the business unit, serve as the first mechanical resource in trouble-shooting activities of the production lines and auxiliary equipment's on site.
- Supports manufacturing business unit's operations to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Support an effective DOM through high participation and involvement
- Understand and follow company safety policies and procedures, enforce safe behavior and identify unsafe conditions.
- Maintain housekeeping according to set standards
- Maintain adequate communication within the production team as well
- Train and coach, the production team in handling mechanical issues.
- Follows and helps with developing the quality standards (e.g., WI's & SOP's) for maintenance.
- Prepare, organize and participate in preventive maintenance of the machines
- Vision of Zero stops & Zero Breakdowns philosophy to reduce unplanned downtime using the right maintenance strategies.
- Actively support Continuous Improvement activity
- Support projects and modifications
- Perform other duties as may be directed by his/her superior
- Responsible for the effective utilization of the mechanical workshop and its equipment.
- Any other relevant task assigned by his/her superior.

- Qualifications & Experience Requirement
Education/Academic Qualifications
- Certificate/Diploma or higher in Mechanical /Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
- English language is a plus
Functional knowledge/Technical skill/:
- Experience in maintenance of mechanical transmissions with gearboxes, timing belts, chains, etc.
- Experience in inspection, replacement, alignment and maintenance of bearings, conveyor belts, V-belts, timing belts, industrial knives, etc.
- Mechanical diagrams reading / understanding.
- Knowledge in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
- Knowledge about TPM principles
Professional/Technical Qualifications & License:
Work Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience as maintenance / mechanical technician in an automated manufacturing / FMCG environment.
- Hands-On experience is vital (installation of bearings, lubrication, conveyor belts, timing belts, cutting units, etc.)
- Working knowledge of mechanical workshop equipment's
- Understand and practices 5S principles
- Worked in projects / teams for continuous improvements activities
