Job Title: Media Planner

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Job Purpose:

The Media Planner is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing integrated media plans across online and offline channels to support brand objectives, drive awareness, and maximize ROI. This role works closely with internal marketing teams, agencies, and media partners to ensure effective media investment and campaign performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Media Planning & Execution

  • Develop end-to-end media plans (annual, quarterly, and campaign-based) aligned with brand and business objectives.
  • Plan and manage media mix across digital, TV, OOH, print, radio, and in-store media where applicable.
  • Execute media buys and coordinate with media agencies and vendors to ensure timely and accurate placement.

Campaign Management & Optimization

  • Monitor campaign performance and optimize media plans based on insights, KPIs, and budget efficiency.
  • Track and manage media budgets, ensuring cost control and effective allocation of spend.
  • Ensure all media executions are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with brand guidelines.

Data, Reporting & Insights

  • Analyze media performance data and provide post-campaign reports with clear insights and recommendations.
  • Leverage consumer insights, market trends, and media research tools to refine targeting and media strategy.
  • Work with digital and analytics teams to assess ROI, reach, frequency, and conversion metrics.

Stakeholder & Agency Management

  • Collaborate closely with Brand, Marketing, Digital, Creative, and E-commerce teams.
  • Manage relationships with media agencies, publishers, and media owners.
  • Support negotiations on media rates, added value, and value-in-kind opportunities.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Keep up to date with media trends, platform developments, and competitive activity in the FMCG landscape.
  • Recommend innovative media solutions and new platforms to enhance campaign effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Advertising, Business, or a related field.
  • Executive: Minimum 24 years of media planning experience, preferably within FMCG, media agency, or brand-side roles.
  • Senior Executive: Minimum 46 years of relevant media planning experience with proven campaign ownership.
  • Strong understanding of media planning principles and media buying across traditional and digital channels.
  • Experience working with media agencies and digital platforms (e.g. Google, Meta, programmatic).
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable plans.
  • Good budget management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and media reporting tools.
  • Prior experience in FMCG, beauty, personal care, or consumer brands.
  • Exposure to integrated marketing campaigns and omnichannel planning.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
