KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Medical Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement the overall medical strategy for the companys registered products across all territories, aligning with global and regional objectives.
- Lead medical affairs initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals, commercial strategy, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide strategic medical insights and guidance for product development, lifecycle management, and post-market activities.
- Ensure medical strategy is evidence-based, supporting scientific integrity and patient-centered care.
- Execute product evaluation/assessment for new pipeline products via business development activities
Medical Affairs Leadership:
- Lead and manage the Medical Affairs department, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to the medical team.
- Ensure that the team operates efficiently, executing medical activities in compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration between medical, commercial, regulatory, and external partners to ensure cohesive execution of company goals.
- Provide leadership and direction for the medical affairs team in supporting product launches, market access strategies, and scientific communications.
- Provide regular updates on market developments to senior leadership, offering recommendations for strategic decision-making.
- Involvement in business development initiatives undertaken by Juniper Group
KOL and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), and external stakeholders to advance the companys scientific and medical credibility.
- Serve as the primary medical contact for KOLs, ensuring regular communication and collaboration on clinical and scientific initiatives.
- Engage with KOLs in scientific advisory boards, symposia, and one-on-one discussions to gather insights that inform product strategy.
- Represent the company at national and international scientific meetings, conferences, and congresses.
- Represent Medical Affairs and build relationships with existing and potential business partners and vendors.
Medical Operations:
- Maintain oversight of Pharmacovigilance (PV), Quality Assurance (QA) and Medical Information (MI) activity of Juniper Group.
- Provide guidance and leadership to Medical Operations Lead that is responsible for PV, QA & MI.
- Provide medical and scientific support for clinical development programs, including protocol development, trial design, and investigator engagement where applicable.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to medical affairs, ensuring that the department meets its goals and objectives.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to improve the effectiveness of medical activities and optimize resource allocation.
- Maintain accountability for medical affairs budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively across projects
Medical Governance and Compliance:
- Ensure that all medical activities comply with local regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
- Provide medical oversight for the development and review of promotional materials, ensuring scientific accuracy and compliance with local laws.
- Collaborate with the regulatory team to support product registrations, labeling changes, and other regulatory submissions.
- Monitor changes in local and global regulatory environments, ensuring that the company remains compliant with any new developments.
- Assume overall responsibility as compliance head and provide guidance to Compliance Officer for all compliance matters including Code of Conduct, internal approval process, data protection etc.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors Degree/MBA in Medicine/Surgery
- At least 6-10 years experience in pharmaceutical industry
- Results oriented with high commitment to quality, performance, and ability to translate a given strategy into detailed implementation.
- Experience in creating tailored ways of engaging with external stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal, communication and networking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytic and problem-solving.
- Has strong business acumen with deep understanding of healthcare trends
- Thrive in a fastpaced environment
- Experience in interfacing and responding to relevant global regulatory authorities
- Knowledge and understanding of international regulations
