Role Description The Medical Director is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in ALOR SETAR KEDAH, responsible for overseeing clinical services, setting medical standards, and ensuring high-quality patient care. This role includes specialist recruiments, guiding physicians and clinical teams, reviewing and improving clinical protocols, and supporting multidisciplinary decision-making . The Medical Director will monitor clinical performance, lead morbidity and mortality reviews, and promote adherence to regulatory, safety, and ethical guidelines. Daily responsibilities also involve collaborating with hospital or clinic administration, participating in strategic planning for service development, mentoring medical staff, and engaging in quality improvement and risk management initiatives. The person in this role will represent the medical staff in internal and external meetings and help align clinical operations with organizational goals.
Qualifications
MBBS OR EQUAVALENT
HOLDS VALID APC
AGE 40-65
- Strong foundation in HOSPITAL MANAGEMENTwith demonstrated clinical leadership experience.
- Familiar with msqh and iso standards
- Proven ability in Working with Physicians, including multidisciplinary collaboration and mentoring.
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) and valid professional registration; specialty certification is an advantage.
- Experience in clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
- Excellent diagnostic judgment, problem-solving skills, and decision-making under pressure.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work with diverse clinical and administrative teams.
- Prior experience in a medical leadership or director-level role is preferred.
