This KLbased, nonbedside role focuses on applying medical judgment to complex, highimpact cases and championing costeffective, evidencebased care. Partnering with global medical leadership and diverse teams, you'll help shape decisions and pathways across local, regional, and global contexts in an officebased setting.

Note: This role will be employed under Allianz Partners Malaysia (AWP SERVICES SDN BHD)

What You'll Do

  • Case manage high-cost/complex cases, ensuring appropriate, safe, and cost-effective care
  • Conduct pre-authorizations for inpatient treatment and review medical claims
  • Lead clinical adjudication and negotiate fair, evidence-based care plans and costs
  • Provide internal clinical consultation to Care Operations, Underwriting, Actuarial, and Medical Provider Management (MPM) team
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with providers, brokers, and clients (in collaboration with MPM)
  • Partner with global medical decision-makers to align on best practice and outcomes
  • Contribute to clinical guidelines, process improvements, and knowledge sharing
  • Ad hoc duties aligned to the Medical Services function
  • Note: Training and onboarding support will be provided. No regular travel required.

Who You Are

  • Medical degree with at least 2 years of clinical experience/residency (ER exposure advantageous)
  • Registered medical doctor; active clinical practice license not required for this role
  • Strong clinical judgment with the ability to balance medical appropriateness and cost-effectiveness
  • Healthcare insurance/assistance or managed care experience is an advantage
  • Negotiation skills and experience engaging with hospitals/providers are a plus
  • Fluent English; Malay, Mandarin and/or Cantonese are beneficial. Other languages are a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable with digital tools
  • Eligible to work in Malaysia

Working pattern and location

  • Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days WFH
  • Work 5 days/week within a 7day operation (07:0022:00). Typically 4 weekday officehour days (MonFri, 09:0018:00) and one late shifts weekly.
  • You must be able to rotate to early/late, weekend, and public holiday shifts as needed. Two consecutive days off per roster.

  • Consistent delivery of safe, medically appropriate, and cost-effective case outcomes
  • Strong partnerships with providers and internal stakeholders; trusted clinical advisor in APAC
  • Visible contribution to playbooks, pre-authorization quality, and high-value claim oversight
