Job Description: Medical Officer UD47 / UD43
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Medical Officer to provide safe, professional, and high-quality medical care. The successful candidate will conduct consultations, diagnose and manage patients, perform clinical procedures, and ensure compliance with all applicable medical and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient consultations, medical assessments, physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Prescribe medications and provide appropriate treatment plans within the authorised scope of practice.
- Perform or assist with ultrasound scans according to clinical competency and approved privileges.
- Perform minor surgical procedures safely and professionally.
- Identify cases requiring specialist care and arrange appropriate referrals.
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and stabilise patients when necessary.
- Explain diagnoses, treatments, medications, and follow-up care clearly to patients.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian Medical Council requirements, clinical guidelines, and organisational policies.
- Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and clinical governance procedures.
- Work closely with nurses, medical assistants, administrative personnel, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in training and continuous professional development activities.
- Work flexible hours or shifts according to the organisation's operational requirements.
- Perform other clinical or administrative duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Malaysian citizen.
- Open to qualified male and female candidates.
- Possess at least a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery qualification (MD/MBBS) from a recognised Malaysian public university or overseas institution.
- Hold a valid registration number with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).
- Hold a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC) for the current year.
- Skilled in performing ultrasound scans or willing to undergo further training in ultrasound procedures.
- Skilled and interested in performing minor surgical procedures.
- Previous experience as a Medical Officer in a government healthcare facility with an excellent service record is preferred.
- Willing and able to work flexible hours or shifts.
