Job Summary
The MEP Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with a strong focus on critical infrastructure for data centers, including power, cooling, and redundancy systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
- Develop detailed MEP execution plans, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Ensure alignment with overall project timeline.
2. Electrical Systems
- Manage installation of:
- Power distribution systems
- UPS and backup generators
- Lighting and control systems
- Ensure redundancy and reliability for data center operations.
3. Mechanical Systems
- Oversee HVAC systems, especially precision cooling for data centers.
- Manage ventilation systems for car parks (smoke extraction, CO monitoring).
4. Plumbing & Fire Protection
- Supervise water supply, drainage, and fire suppression systems.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
5. Testing & Commissioning
- Lead testing and commissioning of all MEP systems.
- Ensure operational readiness, especially for critical data center infrastructure.
6. Coordination
- Coordinate with CSA teams to integrate MEP systems into the structure.
- Work with vendors and subcontractors for specialized installations.
7. Quality Assurance
- Ensure installations meet specifications and standards.
- Conduct inspections and system validation.
8. HSE Compliance
- Ensure safe installation practices.
- Monitor risks associated with electrical and mechanical systems.
9. Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, equipment suppliers, and authorities.
- Provide progress reports and technical solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 6–10 years of experience in MEP project management.
- Strong experience in data center infrastructure is highly preferred.
Key Skills
- Expertise in HVAC, power systems, and data center requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and coordination skills.
- Familiarity with international standards (e.g., NFPA, ASHRAE, Tier standards).
