About the Role
This role is responsible for driving sales and profitability through effective buying, sales, and merchandise strategies while ensuring optimal inventory levels. The incumbent plans and executes sales and buying strategies, monitors sales performance, and conducts merchandise planning and documentation to identify growth opportunities and manage fast- and slow-moving items. Working closely with cross-functional teams and retail stores, the role supports product launches, campaigns, markdowns, and stock requisitions. It also involves regular inventory analysis, stock balancing, and market and competitor reviews to ensure strong product positioning and efficient inventory management aligned with business targets.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the implementation of buying strategies to achieve sales profit as well as inventory targets
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets
- Perform merchandise planning, control & documentation
- Monitor and analyze sales performance to identify opportunities for improvement
- Work closely with other department for better merchandising flow / product launching
- Fast mover & slow seller plan proposal for future orders
- Working with reporting manager & other departments on campaign/ markdown
- Communicate & liaise with retail store personnel on stock requisition & other requirements
- Ensure effective inventory management on stock balancing, stock analysis vs sales performance to ensure stocks on best sellers & inventory instore at an optimal level
- Engage regular competitor & market survey to review
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years buying & merchandise experience required
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, a good team player, disciplined, committed and able to work under pressure
- Business-minded with passion for retail
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision & meeting tight datelines
- Computer literate & proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizing, numerical, negotiation and communication skills
Salary Range
RM3300 to RM4500
