Job Summary

The Relationship Manager at UOB Malaysia is responsible for developing and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with a portfolio of high-value clients. This role focuses on understanding client financial needs, offering tailored banking solutions, and driving business growth through cross-selling and up-selling UOB products and services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of affluent or corporate clients, understanding their financial objectives and risk profiles.
  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities through client referrals, networking, and market intelligence.
  • Conduct in-depth financial needs analysis and propose suitable banking products and services, including loans, deposits, investments, and wealth management solutions.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional service, resolving inquiries, and addressing concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Prepare and present tailored financial proposals and conduct periodic reviews of client portfolios to ensure alignment with their evolving needs.
  • Monitor market trends, economic conditions, and competitor activities to identify potential opportunities and threats.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including product specialists, credit analysts, and operations teams, to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
  • Achieve agreed-upon sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to portfolio growth, revenue generation, and client satisfaction.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in relationship management within the banking or financial services industry, preferably with exposure to the Malaysian market.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building strong client relationships.
  • In-depth knowledge of banking products and services, including lending, deposits, investments, and wealth management.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, economic principles, and regulatory frameworks relevant to the banking sector.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Client-centric mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., FIMM, PCE, CEILI) are a distinct advantage.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is essential. Proficiency in other languages will be an added advantage.
