Job Description

DigitalRoute is the company behind how the digital world gets paid. For over 25 years, we've turned massive, complex usage data into trusted, finance-grade information that enterprises rely on to bill, price, and grow. Today, more than 400 companies across SaaS, AI, cloud, media, and telecom run their revenue-critical data through our platform with precision to the cent and zero downtime.

And the timing couldn't be better. The entire digital economy is moving away from static subscriptions toward usage- and outcome-based pricing over 75% of new digital products will price this way by 2028.

About The Role

We're looking for a Junior to Mid Software Engineer to join Team Neslo, an all‑purpose development team within Usage Cloud. You will:

  • Take ownership of Team Neslo's components, primarily integration functions in Usage Cloud.
  • Build and evolve features across the stack, with a backend focus (70%) and frontend work (30%) when needed.
  • Ensure the quality of everything you ship, from requirements, development, testing, and deployment.
  • After a ramp‑up period, participate in our on‑call rotation (approximately once every 5 weeks) to help keep our production systems healthy.

You'll work closely with a technically hands‑on manager and experienced engineers, learning our architecture and gradually increasing your ownership.

What You'll Do

  • Design, implement, test, and maintain backend services in Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Contribute to frontend features when needed, collaborating with other engineers on UI and UX.
  • Work with AWS and container‑based infrastructure as part of our cloud‑native, microservices‑based platform.
  • Write automated tests and keep them up to date.
  • Use logs, metrics, and monitoring to validate behaviour and debug issues.
  • Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement of how we work.
  • Leverage AI‑powered development tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, and support your learning, while always understanding and taking responsibility for the code you ship.

What You'll Bring

We don't expect you to tick every box, but we think you'll be successful if you have:

  • Strong knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript for backend development.
  • Good knowledge of frontend development (modern JavaScript, SPAs, or similar).
  • Good understanding of cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
  • Experience with or interest in microservices and event‑driven architectures.
  • Experience with databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or similar).
  • Willingness to learn Kubernetes and work with containerised applications.

How You Work

  • You are curious and enjoy digging into unfamiliar parts of the stack.
  • You take ownership of quality. You write tests, monitor your changes, and follow issues through to resolution.
  • You are collaborative, communicate clearly, and participate actively in code reviews.
  • You are open to taking part in on‑call after you've had time to ramp up.

You'll join a team that values openness, growth, and agility. We encourage everyone to share ideas, learn from each other, and continuously improve the way we work.

DigitalRoute is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment, and we actively encourage qualified candidates of all genders, sexual orientations, ethnicities, disabilities, and ages to apply. Our differences are our strengths.

We follow a continuous selection process, and the position may be filled before the last application date.

We look forward to receiving your application!
