Job Description

Job Outline:

. Develop, document, and optimize injection moulding processes for new and existing tools.

. Establish and maintain robust process parameters to ensure part consistency, cycle time efficiency, and quality compliance.

. Analyze and troubleshoot moulding issues such as flash, short shots, sink marks, warpage, and dimensional inaccuracies.

. Collaborate with tooling, quality, and production teams on mould trials, new tool validations (IQ/OQ/PQ), and DOE studies.

. Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements or upgrades to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.

. Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for non-conformances and process deviations.

. Support preventive maintenance efforts for moulds and machines to ensure reliable operation.

. Assist in training production staff and process technicians on best practices and new processes.

. Identify opportunities for automation, cost reduction, and waste elimination within the moulding process.

. Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as ISO/quality standards.

Academic Qualification & Skill Required:

. Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

. 2-5+ years of experience in injection moulding process engineering.

. Strong knowledge of injection moulding machines (e.g., Arburg, Engel, Husky, Sumitomo, etc.), hot runner systems, and auxiliary equipment.

. Familiarity with scientific moulding techniques, process monitoring tools, and mold flow analysis software.

. Solid understanding of plastic materials (thermoplastics), material drying, and troubleshooting resin-related issues.

. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.

. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

. Working knowledge of statistical process control (SPC, DOE, and quality tools (e.g., PFMEA, CAPA).

. Prior experience working with automotive, medical, or high-precision plastic components.

. Proficiency in English, Malay, and Mandarin is preferred for effective communication with stakeholders.
