Job Description

About the company:

MNC based in Penang mainland – specializing in the development and production of advanced polymer products for medical and pharmaceutical industries.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, document and optimize injection molding processes for new and existing tools.
  • Establish and maintain robust process parameters to ensure part consistency, cycle time efficiency and quality compliance.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot molding issues such as flash, short shots, sink marks, warpage and dimensional inaccuracies.
  • Collaborate with tooling, quality, and production teams on mold trials, new tool validations (IQ, OQ, PQ), and DOE studies.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements or upgrades to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for non-conformances and process deviations.
  • Support preventive maintenance efforts for molds and machines to ensure reliable operation.
  • Assist in training production staff and process technicians on best practices and new processes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, cost reduction, and waste elimination within the molding process.
  • Ensure all operations comply with health, safety and environmental regulations, as well as ISO quality standards.

Academic Qualification & Skill Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Plastics. Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-5+ years of experience in injection molding process engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of injection molding techniques, process monitoring tools, and mold flow analysis software.
  • Must be able to communicate in Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin speaking stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of plastic materials (thermoplastics) material drying and troubleshooting resin-related issues.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), DOE and quality tools (e.g. PFMEA, CAPA).
  • Prior experience working with automotive, medical, or high -precision plastic components.

The salary for this position is up to RM 7,000
