Role Description The Mortgage Loan Consultant is a full-time role based in Johor Baharu with a hybrid work arrangement, combining office presence with some work-from-home flexibility. In this role, the consultant will guide customers through the mortgage application process, assess their financing needs, and recommend suitable loan products aligned with Manulife's policies and risk guidelines. Daily responsibilities include evaluating borrower eligibility, collecting and verifying documentation, coordinating with underwriting and operations teams, and ensuring timely loan processing. The consultant will provide clear and empathetic customer service, explain loan terms and conditions, and address inquiries to ensure a positive client experience. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, complying with internal controls and regulatory requirements, and contributing to sales and service targets through proactive customer engagement.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong technical knowledge in mortgages, mortgage lending, and loans, including product features, eligibility criteria, and regulatory requirements.
  • Candidates should possess excellent customer service skills, with the ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and support clients throughout the mortgage journey.
  • Candidates should possess foundational understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and documentation standards relevant to mortgage approvals.
  • Candidates should possess strong analytical and numeracy skills, with attention to detail in reviewing financial information and loan documentation.
  • Candidates should possess effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
  • Candidates should possess good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple cases and meet deadlines.
  • Relevant experience in banking, financial services, or mortgage advisory is preferred; professional certifications or training in finance or credit management are an advantage.
  • A diploma or degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field is beneficial, along with a commitment to ethical conduct and continuous learning.
